Student Union SAVOTTA congratulates the graduates!

Savonia’s spring graduation was celebrated this week in Kuopio and Iisalmi. Studies at Savonia have taken students through a variety of experiences and insights to this moment. The graduates’ diligence and dedication were highlighted in the awarded theses and scholarships awarded. We heard student presentations and speeches, which emphasized different encounters, faith in the future and adaptability.

Chairpersons of the Representative Council gave Student Union’s greetings to the graduates. You can read both speeches below.

Dear guests!
When I think about this day, this moment we are in now. One thought comes to mind. A new beginning.

Today, one phase of life ends, but at the same time, something completely new begins. For many, new tasks, new opportunities and a new way of life lie ahead. However, all the experiences, lessons and memories that have brought you to this moment will remain with you. Graduation is to just a degree or certificate. It is a testament to perseverance, courage and the work that each graduate has done to get to this moment.

That is why I want to say to you graduates: enjoy this moment! Be proud of what you have achieved. And carry that pride with you into the future.

On behalf on SAVOTTA, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to each graduate and wish you happiness and success in the future.

Dear Savonia graduates, staff and esteemed guests!
It is a great pleasure and honor to be part of your celebration and bring you the greetings of the Student Union SAVOTTA.

You have now had a rewarding year of studying and a wealth of fond memories from this period. You may remember the first day you walked through the doors of the campus. The excitement of finding the right classroom. You may remember the tutor who was there to help you. Or the moment you sat next to a new, unknown classmate and shyly introduced yourself to each other.

During these years, you have created new relationships and networks, learned a huge amount of new things. The journey includes successes, disappointments, and stories of growth. However, these years have not necessarily been the easiest time in your life. You have struggled with assignments, internships, and theses. Perhaps you have balanced work, family life, and studies. Each of you has had a different and unique journey from the first day of school to graduation, and all of these experiences have shaped you into the people you are today.

At the end of this journey, you will have completed a degree that you can be truly proud of. Believe and trust in yourself and your expertise, but also remember to continue developing yourself. Accept everything you learn from those experienced veterans in working life and in your immediate circle, but at the same time dare to question and boldly present your own views.
Because you, the newly graduated, have that fresh expertise and new perspectives.

Graduation marks the end of one period, but at the same time the beginning of a new one. I would like to wish you success in your future, and congratulate you warmly on your graduation on behalf of myself and the Student Union.
