Apply to Be a Tutor
Tutors build a thriving higher education community – for smooth studying and student joy.
Why Become a Tutor?
As a tutor, you’ll meet new people both in person and online, improve your communication and information-sharing skills, assist new students, and organize events for fellow students. In addition to guiding new students through their first year, you’ll be part of a supportive community made up of all the tutors. Come help build a sense of community with your tutoring and help new students start their studies smoothly!
How to Apply to Be a Tutor?
We are looking for tutors at the beginning of the year. The application period for tutors will be announced in Savonia’s Reppu and SAVOTTA’s websites and social media. To apply, you must fill out an online application form, which will be sent to your school email. Keep an eye on the announcements!
How Are Tutors Selected?
The tutor coordinator of each student association, in collaboration with the academic advisor, will make the selection. The main criteria for selection are the student’s attitude toward tutoring. Other criteria include good academic performance, initiative, sociability, and extroversion.
Tutor Responsibilities and Duties
Being a tutor is fun and offers plenty of new experiences. However, don’t apply for the role lightly – tutors have responsibilities. The tutoring season lasts the entire academic year. Tutors must attend mandatory training and remain active even in their free time. Tutors must also fulfill the duties outlined in their contract and be reliable guides for new students. Receiving proper guidance at the start of studies is extremely important.
