The Student Union SAVOTTA of Savonia University of Applied Sciences – 25 years already!

Our anniversary celebration will be held on October 5, 2024. Although it’s called a one-day event, there will be all sorts of activities throughout the week. The anniversary week will feature events on campus, around the city, and even at the spa. The activities are open to everyone, and we hope that as many students as possible will come and enjoy some free time away from student life with their friends and possibly some new acquaintances as well.

So grab your ticket and come experience a relaxed time together!

Anniversary Week Program:

Monday, September 30:

Etiquette evening at Teerenpeli at 6:00 PM.
During the evening, we’ll introduce you to the traditions and guidelines of anniversary celebrations. Can you eat if the food arrives before your neighbor’s? Can you sit down at the table before others? If you’re not yet fully versed in etiquette, don’t worry, we’ll explain everything! Whether you’re a first-timer, a seasoned anniversary veteran, or just eager to learn something new, you’re welcome!

Tuesday, October 1:

Surprise tasting at Bar&cafeSAVOTTA at 6:00 PM.
The sweetest surprise of the anniversary week can be found at SAVOTTA’s very own café! Come along for a relaxed and delicious surprise tasting. The tasting will include flavors from various festive drinks, and what would a celebration be without something sweet!

Wednesday, October 2:

Spa evening at Kuopio’s Saana from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. (Registration closes on September 22 at 5:00 PM)
Midway through the anniversary week is the perfect time to take a break from everyday life and refresh yourself by Lake Kallavesi. At Saana, you can try the smoke sauna and cool off in the cold-water pool. The spa also features two outdoor pools, a hot tub, various showers, and heated chairs. You can even take a dip in Lake Kallavesi!
Spa time is 2 hours and includes washing up and leaving the locker room.
You can choose between two times:

• Spa time 5:00–7:00 PM
• Spa time 7:00–9:00 PM

Thursday, October 3:

VujuBINGO at Malja at 6:00 PM.
What would an anniversary celebration be without bingo at the beer restaurant Malja? There will be great prizes and student-friendly prices. Grab your friends and come celebrate SAVOTTA!

Friday, October 4:

Giveaway and SAVOTTA stand in Campus Heart from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Over the past 25 years, our storage rooms have accumulated all sorts of things. The anniversary week culminates with a giveaway event where we’ll be clearing out our storage and handing out items for free—yes, FREE—to our students. So come by the campus and grab yourself a frying pan, perhaps!
